Monster Island is the name of The Asylum's 2019 mockbuster, which was ironically published around the same time as Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Monster Island is about an island that is known as Monster Island, where a monster can be discovered, who is also sort of the island, if you will.


Because this film is about an asylum, the budget was comparable to a large child's meal. It makes economic use of its resources by focusing on a few human characters and keeping the big names of the film in one location to allow them to shoot all their scenes in a single lunch break. However, lest we forget that this is a work in the kaiju genre, and well... that is sort of how they go, so maybe The Asylum won't do such an awful job with (just updated) it?
